Argument maps
Shortcuts for building and moving around argument maps
Double-click a box to edit its text on the map. Use F to fold long branches and keep the map readable. A box held up by reasons loses its dots: its value becomes whatever the argument gives it. Click a connector to select it: the − and + buttons appear beside the label, and the keys 1–3 do the same. They say whether that step is a leap, whether it supports, or whether it is conclusive — and the thickness of the line shows it across the whole map. A claim the argument needs but nobody wrote is marked implicit, with the dashed icon in the header or with I: the outline turns dashed, and what was said stands apart from what you added. The map lays itself out from the top down — dragging a box moves the whole branch without breaking the alignment, and L puts everything back in place.
